My head is too heavy for me to keep my eyes open long enough to think about what just happened. I close them with a smile on my face and a hard cock in my hand.

Chapter 11

Good Morning

Blaise

I stumble into the dining room. I’ve been fighting with myself all morning. I hadn’t planned to show my face after that dream.

It was so real. I had to convince myself that Argon wouldn’t know I dreamed about him in such vivid color and in such a way. I felt every kiss, every touch. I wanted that kiss from his lips so badly.

“Stop it,” I chide myself as my thoughts travel back to the dream.

I can’t help wondering if it was all a result of peeking in on him. I shouldn’t have done that and now I’m paying for it. Dream Argon was as perfect as the image I saw through the orb.

“Good morning.”

I lift my head to find Argon standing behind the chair he has pulled out for me. He has an odd look on his face. I stare at him for a moment, trying to figure out what he’s thinking.

Does he know?

His eyes fall to my breasts, then move farther down my body. His nostrils flare and he licks his lips. I bounce nervously from hoof to hoof and furrow my brows.

I don’t know his powers, but I’ve felt them. I wonder if he can see my thoughts. He looks down at my hooves and his brows crease as his cheeks turn red.

“Good morning, Blaise,” he says.

His voice comes out husky and deep. I clench my thighs, remembering how he commanded me to lie back in the dream. I’ve never experienced the touch of a man. At least, it’s not something I can recall.

“Good morning,” I reply, ducking my head away from his penetrating gaze.

I move to take the chair he pulled out for me. My cheeks are burning as I keep my eyes on the table before me. I’m relieved when Bach and Dinesh fly in with breakfast.

I tear into my oatmeal as soon as it’s placed in front of me. I’m famished, as if I used real energy in that dream. Gods know, I woke soaked between the legs, my body still convulsing from the pleasure Dream Argon inflicted on me.

“Did you sleep well?”

I jump at the sound of his voice. I place a hand over my chest to still my heart. Looking out the corner of my eye, I question if he knows.

I lick my lips. “Yes and no.”

He lifts a brow in question. I start to fidget in my seat. Remembering what it was like to be a lady, I reach for my napkin and place it in my lap.

Smoothing my hands across the fabric, I buy myself time to answer. When I look at him, I nearly whimper. His gaze is heated and fixed on me.

“I had a dream,” I breathe. “It was very real and unsettling.”

He licks his full lips. “Must be something in the food,” he mutters.

It’s almost too low for me to hear. Actually, if not for my enhanced hearing, I don’t think I would’ve. I look at my bowl of oatmeal and wonder if Dinesh could be playing with the food again.

“Excuse me?”

“Nothing,” he says, shaking his head. “Those hallucinations. Were they limited to the night you healed me?”

“No,” I say cautiously. “My venom is still in your system. It will be some time before it leaves. You can have them as long as it’s in your blood.”

“Hmm.” He purses his lips and nods.

“Ha… have you had one?”

He pulls a hand down his face. “I may have had more than one. Would you like to take a walk with me again today?”

I turn back to my food. I had an excellent time with him yesterday. Argon is funny and wise. I believe he’s a great warrior in his world.

My heart aches. His people probably miss him. Losing him has most likely changed his world.

“Yes, I’d like that. I also believe I have an idea for something to do that you will enjoy.”

His gaze heats even more. “Do you?”

“Um, y…yes. I believe you still have enough power for this.”

“Hmm.”

Argon

I stand before the mirror in my bedchamber with a towel around my waist after a shower. I thought it would help me to clear my mind. It has only left me with more thoughts swirling in my brain.

I shouldn’t be so nervous about going on a walk with this creature. Nothing can become of us. Even if I think that my spirit link has opened to her.

“Think, Argon,” I growl at myself.

I need to know what all of this means. Once my link is open to my mate, it will not accept another. I have to figure out what has opened it and how I can close it back.
