I come in her mouth and she moans as she swallows it, and I swear, I swear, right then and there I decide I’ll do anything to make her happy.

“Good girl,” I say, panting, and kiss her lips.

I pull her into bed with me and wrap my arms around her body. She wiggles back, her ass pressing against my half-hard cock.

“This is why you brought me home,” she whispers, practically purring, content and still damp with sweat. “You just want me for my body.”

I squeeze her ass hard. “Are you complaining?”

“No, I’m not. But if you’re not careful, this whole not fucking me thing’s going out the window.”

I feel myself getting hard again and god damn, she’s right.

“I should take you home.”

She rolls over to look in my eyes. “Not right now. Can we just stay like this for a little while?”

I kiss her gently and bite her lip.

“For as long as you want.”

Chapter 24

Karah

It takes falling asleep in Nico’s arms to start feeling human again.

The sun rises on his depressingly empty apartment and I get up before he’s awake. There’s not much in the refrigerator, but I manage some toast and eggs and make coffee by the time he comes into the kitchen wearing only a pair of tapered sweats and nothing else. I stare at his muscular body and the tattoos etched into his skin and I wonder for the millionth time how the hell I ended up here, in Nico’s apartment, sleeping in Nico’s bed, wanting his fingers and lips and chest and arms and his thick, hard cock.

What’s wrong with me? Seriously, I haven’t been awake for more than ten minutes and I’m already thinking about him touching my writhing and moaning flesh.

“Morning, princess. You look gorgeous with that fresh just-came-hard hair.”

I grimace. That’s much better. A little hate rekindles and the world’s right again.

“We fell asleep.” It’s a stupid thing to point out since he’s well aware of that, but the implications are pretty intense. I’ve never slept in a bed with a man before, much less with a man that I genuinely hated only a few weeks earlier.

“I told your brother where you were. You know what he said?” Nico pours himself some coffee and grins at me.

“I don’t think I want to know.”

“He said, you better fucking marry her now, you sick piece of trash. Good old Casso.”

My cheeks turn red. “I’m really not sure how I feel about that.”

“I told him we didn’t fuck if that helps.”

“It really doesn’t. He’s my brother, please don’t ever, ever talk about me and sex to him ever again. Actually, don’t talk about me and sex to anyone in my family, or anyone in the world, please.”

“Relax, princess.” He slaps my ass and squeezes it as he kisses my neck. “It’s very fun messing with you, you know that, right?” He bites my earlobe. “Did you make breakfast? How domestic.”

“Now I remember why I despise you so much.”

He laughs as I storm back into the bedroom to get dressed.

Flashes of the night before return. Nico’s fingers between my legs. Nico’s cock in my mouth. Nico’s arms around my body as we slept together.

His hand around my throat as I came in a wild cascade of intensity.

I have to close my eyes and breathe deep for ten seconds. I feel the buzzing at the edge of my skull—the buzzing which precedes another freakout—and manage to keep myself grounded.

Nico’s hand around my throat felt so fucking good and so goddamn wrong, and I don’t understand it, don’t understand myself or why I’m so shattered by my own flawed memory. I want to wake up and breathe fresh air but it’s like I’m shoved under the ground with dirt piled into my mouth, soil packed tight into the back of my throat, and it’s either spit it out or choke.

I think I might choke.

Nico puts a shirt on and drives me home. We chat about nothing important on the way back—our favorite breakfast places, the best burrito in the city, that sort of stuff—but it’s weirdly normal and comfortable. Despite his arrogance and the way he looks at me like I’m his favorite toy, I actually like being around him.

At least when he’s not being a dick.

“I’ll see you later, princess,” he says as I get out and start toward the house.

“You’re not coming in?”

He frowns slightly past me and I spot Gavino standing in the doorway. “Better if I didn’t. Tell the boys I have business to deal with this afternoon.” He drives off and I watch him go.

“Is Papa going to be angry?” Gavino asks when I walk up the steps and onto the wide front porch. “Are we going to have a shotgun wedding?”

“We’re having a wedding sooner or later but I don’t think shotguns will be involved.” I cross my arms and glare at my brother. “Go ahead and say what you’re thinking.”
