KAITLYN
Oh God, what have I done?
The thought ran through Kaitlyn’s brain over and over as she carefully pulled out of Braze, sliding the thick onyx shaft out of him. Her big, strong Protector was drooping—hanging limply from the manacles that held him to the punishment platform. He seemed almost on the edge of unconsciousness, and she could see why—she’d basically forced an orgasm from him, fucking him so hard like that. She’d made a spectacle of him—forcing him to come in front of the whole Court.
God, he probably hated her now!
“Quickly, help me get him down!” she ordered the servants as she shoved off the harness and pulled the other end of the onyx shaft out of herself.
After a glance at the Empress for permission, the servants did as she said, unfastening the non-con manacles from the supporting bar of the punishment post and freeing the big Kindred at last.
Kaitlyn kicked the shaft and harness aside and stepped down from the wooden platform she’d been standing on to loop an arm around his waist. It was a good thing she did—Braze took a single, staggering step and nearly fell over.
“It’s all right—it’s okay,” Kaitlyn chanted—though she wasn’t sure if she was trying to reassure him or herself. “Everything is going to be okay—where’s a couch? Get me someplace to sit!”
The servants moved with alacrity, finding her a loveseat which they dragged forward. Kaitlyn tried to get her Protector settled on it. She had learned enough when she first got interested in Kink to know that he needed after-care—soothing, calm words…cuddles and reassurance as well as physical comfort for what was sure to be a very sensitive area after taking such a pounding.
But when she tried to settle him on the puffy couch, Braze pushed her away.
“No.” His deep voice was ragged and the look on his face was deeply unhappy. “No sitting, no resting—just want to get the fuck out of here—away from this fucking planet,” he growled.
Kaitlyn’s heart twisted in her chest—he hated her now—she was sure of it. He might have begged her to fuck him earlier, but that was only because of the Love Vine tea in his system. He was a big, strong warrior and she had humiliated him in front of a crowd of people.
He was never going to forgive her.
“All right—we’ll go,” she said, trying to keep her voice steady. She could feel tears pricking at her eyes but she held them back—she had to be strong now—had to get them out of there.
She looked up at the Empress, who was still sitting on her throne with a maddening smirk on her face.
“We did what you asked,” she said, glaring at the other woman. “I punished my husband for you. Give us the Love Vine and let us go.”
The smirk on the Empress’s face turned into a spoiled, petulant frown.
“You don’t deserve the Love Vine! I’ve seen better performances on the street corner near the palace.”
Hot words rose to Kaitlyn’s lips and only her training in diplomacy held them back. She wasn’t just representing herself—she was representing the Kindred Mother Ship, she reminded herself.
“So you’re turning us away empty handed?” she asked, deliberately keeping her voice calm. “Even though Braze saved your life last night when the Kriver went berserk? Even after you forced me to humiliate him in front of a crowd of strangers?”
The Empress looked sulky.
“It’s not like you’ve never fucked him before, I’m sure. Wives fuck their husbands and concubines all the time.”
“But not in public!” Kaitlyn snapped. “I hurt him…shamed him. Our relationship will never be the same.” You bitch! she wanted to add—but didn’t.
“You know, he really did save all our lives last night.” It was Aria, standing at the Empress’s elbow. The bubblegum pink girl looked sorry, though she clearly wasn’t to blame. “Please, Your Majesty—why not just give them a little piece of the Love Vine before they go?” she pleaded softly. “I don’t think the Ambassadress’ husband is used to getting punished that way—I think they’re both upset.”
“Fine.” The Empress threw up her hands dramatically. “Not that I care if they’re upset or not.” She leaned down, glaring at Kaitlyn from her throne. “I will grant you a small cutting of the Love Vine to take with you, but you must go at once. I’m sick of seeing both your faces!”
Kaitlyn wished she could tell the cruel, spoiled ruler she was sick of her too, but again, diplomacy closed her lips.
“Thank you, Your Majesty,” she said, bowing stiffly. “My husband and I will take our leave of your planet.”
“See that you do—and don’t come back!” the Empress snapped childishly.
Kaitlyn only nodded.
“Come on, Braze.” She tried to take him by the hand, but her Protector pulled away.
“I’ll walk on my own,” he said shortly.
Her heart twisted again. God, he really hated her—not that she blamed him.
