Fire burned his nose and forehead, making him shiver. The rush would be coming for him soon enough.

“I don’t know. Depends on what you consider adventurous,” Zane said, pulling Roach up by the back of his suit to make room for himself.

Michael leaned against the wall with a lazy smile. “I’ve got a partner, and we like to play, if you know my meaning.”

Roach’s breathing quickened, and the buzz in his head rose. “What man? Spell it out. Fuck!”

Michael rolled his eyes. “Not the perceptive type, are you? I’m saying we like to switch things up, fuck other people. How about the two of you come over to my place?”

Zane’s hair was being a nuisance, and he tried to pull it back, so Roach did it for him, the silky touch somehow more intense than before. Zane snorted the lines loudly, as if he’d done this many times, but stumbled back when he tried to rise, and he’d have fallen over if it wasn’t for Roach securing him in place.

His whole body recoiled at the sole notion of someone else touching Zane. Would saying no make him not adventurous? The orgy Zane had mentioned kept circling through Roach’s head like a giant fly that couldn’t find a way out. If this was something Zane was into, he’d surely find Roach boring in due time.

“Your boyfriend handsome?” Roach asked to give himself more time, but Zane spoke over him, stumbling at Roach again when he picked himself up.

“Why the hell not? We should make this night count!”

With coke and alcohol flowing through Roach’s veins, the cramps in his stomach were numb enough to make him nod. “Okay! Let’s do it. I’m in.”

Michael grinned and fist bumped the wall. “Hell yeah!”

Maybe if Roach had a few more drinks, he could bear seeing Zane undressing in front of Michael. Worst case scenario, he’d be causing yet more mayhem, but what was a night in jail anyway?

Chapter 14 – Zane

Michael wasn’t Zane’s type, but he wasn’t bad-looking either. And this thing with Roach? It was getting out of control. It’s been a little over twenty-four hours since they’d met again, and Zane’s libido was in a state of constant excitement. They’d fucked three times, and he was already starting to think of Roach as a relatively nice guy. And that wasn’t right. His life had irreversibly changed because of Roach, and he didn’t deserve Zane’s forgiveness.

So here they were—drunk and coked up—about to have a foursome with some guy Zane had just met and his phantom boyfriend, all because Zane didn’t want to look like a wuss in front of Roach.

A tiny voice at the back of his mind told him he also needed to prove to himself that he still desired other guys, because the way his brain zeroed in on Roach was giving him the creeps. But he’d keep that thought buried so deep it would never be uncovered.

Michael’s house was large enough to comfortably suit a family of nine, a size Zane had dreamed of back when he shared his room with three of his siblings. It had a long driveway and no nearby neighbors. So Michael either liked his privacy or was about to murder them.

Tough luck, if that was the case, because Zane still had seven lives left.

He slid off the bike and glanced at the porch encompassing the entire front of the building. It was like one of those fancy movie houses people with regular jobs could somehow afford. Nothing like the tiny single-storey he’d grown up in.

“Nice place,” he told Michael, who slid out of his truck and led them up the steps, to the main entrance. Zane couldn’t see any lights, but maybe the boyfriend was in a room somewhere on the other side?

Roach slid his hand to Zane’s ass and squeezed, distracting him further, as if his brain wasn’t scattered enough. “You’re on board, right?”

Michael opened the door for them with a grin and dilated pupils. “You’re gonna love it.”

Zane glanced Roach’s way, distracted by the intensity of the touch. “What?” he asked, stepping into the hallway decorated with old school movie posters. When the light went on, the interior looked perfectly average, but wasn’t the illusion of normalcy how serial killers managed to get a hold of their victims?

Paranoia was rife in Zane’s brain, and Roach leaning in to kiss his neck without warning only agitated him further.

“I asked if you’re still on board,” Roach said.

“Why? Aren’t you?” Zane asked, rolling away from him and straight into Michael, who pushed his fingers into Zane’s mane with a small smile. He was older than Zane’s usual preference, but it didn’t matter, though his scent—dense and peppery as if he’d used a perfume concentrate instead of the bottled version—choked Zane when they got close.

“No, of course I am. Why wouldn’t I be? A fucking foursome? Bring it!” Roach laughed and maybe it was the coke talking, but Zane had the sense that he could feel Roach’s heart pounding faster, his skin radiating unreasonable amounts of heat. “Just gonna eat that muffin first,” Roach added, heading for the classy, open plan kitchen.
