It was a text from Law asking me to call him right away, so I did. “What’s up?”

“We have a problem, and I don’t think we should book this fucker.”

“What do you mean?”

“If you see his trunk, you’ll put a bullet in his head yourself. This will require the guys’ assistance.”

While still on the phone, I got a text from Boomer. Church with a prayer offering tonight?

I replied. Ten.

Boomer: Done.

“You know what to do, Law.” I didn’t even need to see the next text. It was a mass text from Boomer. Law had already called him for sure.

“Yep. See you at Church.” We hung up, and my happy mood soured. I had to shake it off before Grace saw and wondered. I didn’t want her to live in fear, and after tonight, she wouldn’t ever again.

I rushed upstairs and saw her coming out of the shower. “Damn it. I missed it.”

“Good, because your ass needs to feed me.”

“Give me five.” I took my shower quickly, thinking about Grace. My dick ached as it stiffened again. The fucker should be used to being hard all the damn time. Once I was good to go, I spent the rest of the day showing my woman how much I loved her.

“Stop screaming like a little bitch,” I barked out, glaring at the fuck who tried to take my wife away from me. We had him chained to the ceiling with his knees touching the floor, stripped down to his boxers. “This is what you planned to do to my wife.” I grabbed the taser and shot him in the nuts with it. A rank smell filled the room as the fuckhead shit himself. “Damn, you’re a weak bastard, aren’t you?”

Boomer shouted, “Hose him down.”

Wrench turned on the fireman’s hose, spraying the fucker down. I raised my hand because I didn’t have patience for this. He choked and sputtered water everywhere. “What were your plans for my wife?”

“Nothing. I just wanted her back. I didn’t know she was married.”

“That’s bullshit, because I saw the shit in your trunk, you sick fuck. Now, I’m going to ask you one last time. What did you plan to do to my wife?”

“I planned to fuck her one last time before I killed her.”

“Blade.” He walked up to me, holding the weapon they found in the trunk. It was an eleven-inch hunting knife. “Thanks.” I took it and twirled it in my hand. The pussy thought he’d use this on my wife, and I felt like spilling his guts all over the ground, but that would be messy—extremely messy. Instead, I held his face and swiped the blade across his cheek.

His howling scream pissed me off even more, so I plunged the knife into his throat. He gasped as the blood squirted out of his body. “No one hurts my angel. See you in hell.” I spun around and then kicked the blade deeper until it came out the other side.

“Feel better?” Boomer asked.

“Not yet. Seeing that knife brought the reality that a few minutes more and I would have lost her. His cowardice disgusts me because he would have butchered my love.”

“We understand. Change up, and we’ll take care of this for you. Go home to your wife and hold her tonight.”

“Thank you.” I went into the shower next door and washed off the blood sprays, changing my clothes before hopping on my bike. The engine roared to life as I sped out and down toward my home where my precious wife waited for me.

The second I walked in the door, Grace stood there glaring at me. “You didn’t have to kill him because he came to get me back. I wouldn’t have left you.”

“I just meted out some justice.”

“That’s not justice,” she bit out, looking pissed off.

I didn’t want to argue about this. I needed to hold her. “Look. If you knew what I was going to do, why the fuck didn’t you argue with me earlier?”

“Because I know it’s not about him wanting me back. There’s more. Crystal said that whatever it was, it was bad. I want the truth.”

Fucking hell. Boomer is going to have to talk to his wife. Shit. “I killed the bastard, and I’d do it again. Hell, I think he died too quickly, but I don’t think it’s best that you know the ‘why.’”

“I don’t want you to lie to me, Ricardo. We’re in this together. I want the truth.”

“Fuck. Fine.” I walked past her, pacing when I looked up at her. I hated that she couldn’t let it go. I took her hand and led her to the sofa, just in case she passed out. “Are you going to promise you’re not going to freak and pass out?” She nodded. “No, Grace. I need the words. You’re my everything. I wouldn’t forgive myself if something happened to you.”
