“Make sure you find me if you’re going to put on another sexy show. It’s my birthday, so I get to watch. You can’t refuse me on my birthday.”
Chuckling, Ryder threw his arm across my shoulders and pulled me close. “Never gonna happen, you horny asshole, birthday or not,” he shouted back to Trevor, who began laughing maniacally. Five seconds later, he disappeared into a sea of, as he’d described them, his adoring fans.
“He is something else,” Ryder said before pressing a kiss to the side of my head.
“That he is.”
“You ever wonder what pain he’s hiding beneath all that bravado?”
“All the time,” I said as I watched my friend soak up the attention he craved as he moved sensually against a guy I’d met a few times but whose name I couldn’t recall.
Ryder kissed the side of my head again. “He’ll tell you when he’s ready. C’mon, let’s get a drink. I have a feeling I’ll need to get you liquored up if I want you all over me on the dance floor.”
I followed my boyfriend to the bar with a snort. “Make sure it’s a damn strong drink.” I hated dancing, which might seem odd given that I worked bottle service at a high-end nightclub. Faking a few moves for customers was very different from spending hours on the dance floor in my free time. But I had no intention of missing one second plastered against Ryder as we moved to the music. If that meant getting a few drinks in me to loosen me up, then that’s what I planned to do.
“It’s so weird seeing staff we don’t know running the bar. Feels like we’re in some alternate universe,” Ryder said as he lifted a hand to flag down the bartender. The guy was opposite Dom in every way. Tall, slender, and devoid of any tattoos, at least ones we could see. Unlike a regular working night for me, tonight’s staff wore black pants and black sparkly vests over tight black T-shirts. It was sexy and classy without being revealing, as opposed to Top Shelf’s usual vibe of overt sexuality. Tonight, the focus was meant to be on Trevor, not staff prancing around in next to nothing.
“I know. It’s strange. These poor guys are going to be sweating their assess off. That’s the only good thing about the uniforms Parker makes us wear.”
“Truth. Speaking of Parker, I wonder where he is.” Ryder glanced around. “He’ll be here, right?”
Lord, help us if he didn’t. “I can’t imagine he’d skip this. Trevor would be crushed.”
The bartender stopped in front of Ryder. “Hey,” he said in a flirty tone that immediately had my hackles up. “What can I get for you, handsome? You name it, I’ll provide it.”
I stepped up, plastering my back against Ryder’s as I slipped my hand around his waist and rested my chin on his shoulder. “He’ll have a Chase Azul Reposado neat, and I’ll have the same.”
Ryder’s cheek twitched against my own as he no doubt fought a smirk at my possessive display. “And a drink will be all I need from you… for tonight.”
That little shit. I squeezed his side as he chuckled. He knew damn well what he was doing to me.
“And every fucking night.”
Much better.
The bartender laughed as he lifted his hands in surrender with a bar towel dangling from one. “Got it. No need for your guard dog to rip my throat out. Let me get those drinks for you.”
As he spun around to fill our order, Ryder turned in my arms. One eyebrow arched high into his forehead. He didn’t even need to say anything for my face to heat.
“All right, I’m a caveman.”
He chuckled, shaking his head. “I didn’t say anything.”
“Your eyebrow said all sorts of shit.”
That had him laughing out loud. “What’s in our goodie bag?”
“No idea.” I’d forgotten I’d accepted the gift from Trevor and had the handle hanging off my wrist. “Let’s see.”
“I love surprises,” Ryder said with a grin.
I lifted the bag between us, and my impatient boyfriend dove right in, yanking the glittery tissue paper out before peering inside. His eyes widened. “Well, well, well, Trevor is one naughty boy.”
I barked a laugh. “This is not new information. What is it?”
Ryder pulled out a small box and held it up for me to see.
My throat dried up, and my cock went rock-hard. He’d gifted us a vibrating butt plug complete with a remote control. Shit. We needed to use that tonight and as soon as possible. The thought of Ryder’s ass stuffed full and at my mercy, no matter where I stood in the room, was enough to have my cock twitching.
I glanced over my shoulder. Men and women, Trevor’s friends and co-workers, danced, drank, and socialized all through the room. While crowded, it wasn’t the wall-to-wall crush of bodies of a typical night at Top Shelf. No one paid the slightest attention to us. Trevor held court on the dance floor, showing off his sensual moves and having a blast as he should on his birthday.
