“Me neither. It feels like it’s flown by. It was cool—having your mom and sisters there with us today.”

“Yeah, it was.”

We didn’t talk much more about it the rest of the drive. When we got back to our apartment, Jonathan said, “Let’s take a shower together.” It wasn’t the first time we had, of course, but it was the first time he suggested it.

“Nah, I’m good.”

He rolled his eyes, not believing me for a second. “You fucker. Get in the shower with me.”

“If you insist.”

He took my hand and led me to our bedroom.

Once we were naked and under the spray, I reached for my sponge, but Jonathan took it out of my hand. He squirted soap onto it and began washing my body.

“What’s this?” I asked.

“It’s the point of a shower. You use soap to—”

“You know what I mean, smart-ass.” He’d never done this before.

“I just… I want to take care of you the way you do me.” I knew he didn’t mean hygienically, because I’d never done this for him. “Don’t really know if you realize how much you’ve changed my life.”

My heart thudded, and my head sounded echoey as the best kind of warmth spread through me, head to toe. “Handsome…”

“Shh. I’m busy.”

“My boyfriend is the bossiest.”

He leaned in, pressed a kiss to my lips, then continued what he was doing. I lifted my arms for him as Jonathan trailed the sponge along every inch of my body. It wasn’t long before I started to react. He got hard too, but this moment wasn’t about sex. It was about…care…love, even though we’d never said those words to each other.

When he finished with my body, Jonathan picked up the shampoo. “My hair too? I might expect this treatment every day.”

“Okay,” he answered simply, making my heart swell. I didn’t know how this happened, but I was so damn grateful it had. I got it now—Elijah and Shaw, Will and Jameson. Love had made them go a little crazy, and honestly, it had strengthened my resolve not to have it, but now, now I got it, and there wasn’t anything I wouldn’t do to hold on to Jonathan.

He washed and conditioned my hair, helped me rinse off.

I took over next and did the same process for him.

He was drying me off when he said, “We should have an underwear movie day. We never did.”

“We can have naked movie day now that we’re boyfriends.”

“I like that even better.”

So that was exactly what we did. We stayed naked and in bed the rest of the day. The only time either of us got dressed was when we ordered food and Jonathan put on a pair of shorts to get the door.

It was around nine when the last movie ended. The room was dark except for the lamp on my nightstand. I turned the power off on the TV, and Jonathan said, “I used to be horrible to Will. I don’t know how he forgave me.”

“You’re human. We all make mistakes. What matters is where we go from there. Your brother loves you, and you deserve his forgiveness.” It was the realest thing I could think of to say. I believed every word but didn’t know if they were enough.

“How did you get so smart?” he teased.

“It’s a talent.”

“Thank you…for always accepting me for who I am. I promise, I’m going to work through all my shit, okay?”

My hands trembled, and I turned back into that guy with the melty insides. “Thank you for choosing me.” Will had said Jonathan depended on me, let me in, and I felt so damn honored he did.

“Will you fuck me again? I love it…the way it feels when you’re inside me. Like you own me or something.”

My whole world tilted on its axis. “Jesus, handsome. The things you say.”

I laid him on his back, kissed him, let my mouth trail down his body. Jonathan held his legs back for me, let me lick his hole while he writhed beneath me, begging for more. He loved this, being taken this way, with my tongue, then my fingers.

His hand fisted in my hair, and when he said huskily, “I’m gonna come this way…just from your tongue…if you don’t hurry up and take me,” I was stuck between wanting to watch him lose control over being eaten and wanting to take him with my cock.

My dick won.

I pushed up on my knees, rolled a condom down my erection, slicked up, and took him that way—Jonathan on his back, legs over my shoulders, his eyes on mine as he surrendered himself to me.

CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN

Jonathan

It was Friday night, and we were going out—out out, as in a gay bar…club…? I didn’t even know. I was filled with excitement and nerves and, Christ, I’d never done this. The straight-bar thing, yeah, but not a queer one.
