“It’s been eleven years, yet your body still responds to mine,” he murmurs. Backing up slightly, his hazel eyes meeting my onyx ones. Then his eyes travel a few inches south, landing on my mouth. His tongue darts out slightly, wetting his lips. He’s going to kiss me. I can feel it in my bones. I should stop him. Push him away. But I don’t. And just as I predicted, seconds later his mouth crashes against mine. Our tongues meet and duel with one another. Jase’s fingers dig into my sides as he lifts me onto the counter. My legs wrap around his waist as my fingers grip the back of his hair, pulling him closer to me.

As our kiss deepens, moans release from the both of us, echoing in the otherwise silent bathroom. His hands glide up my thighs, my dress bunching up at my waist. I release his hair, undoing his button and zipper. Using my heel, I push his pants and briefs down as Jase pulls my lace panties to the side, pushing his fingers into me. A loud sigh escapes my lips as my head goes back, hitting the mirror. His lips find my neck, and as he trails soft, wet kisses across my now-heated flesh, he pulls his fingers out of me, jerks me forward, and thrusts his entire hard length into me. He feels so good, but different…something about him is different. Is that…Is he…pierced?

“Fuck, Celeste,” Jase growls, pushing my thoughts away as he fucks me hard and deep. His fingers are digging into my sides. It should hurt, but it only adds to the pleasure. I feel my orgasm building with every thrust of his hips, and then he hits my sweet spot.

“Yes, right there!” I scream. Jase listens, hitting it again and again. And before I know it, my entire body lets go, and I come harder than I ever have before. My body shakes as my orgasm continues to rip right through me. Jase nuzzles his face into my neck, his lips sucking on my perspired skin as he follows right behind. My eyes are closed, and I take a deep breath, enjoying the moment of pure bliss.

But then he stills, his now semi-soft dick still in me, and reality hits. I just let Jase fuck me…without a condom. I’m on the pill, but that’s not really the point. I’m about to say something, when Jase speaks first.

“Fuck, this was a mistake.” I might’ve been thinking the same thing, but fuck him for saying it first. I push him back and his dick slides out—the mess of what we just did drips out of me.

I can’t help the maniacal laugh that escapes my lips as Jase stares at his cum dripping down the inside of my thigh. Reaching over, I grab a paper towel to wipe it up.

“That shouldn’t have happened,” Jase says. “I don’t cheat.” And with those words, I snap my head up to give him my full attention, my focus on cleaning up no longer a priority.

“Good to see you now have morals,” I say, laughing even harder, “but you don’t have to worry.” I jump down off the sink and throw the paper towel into the garbage. “My boyfriend and I broke up last week.”

“And the guy you’re here with?”

“Just a friend.”

I turn around slowly and lock eyes with Jase, realizing I just had sex—granted, it was hate sex, but still sex—with the man who cheated on me and broke my heart. And then his words sink in. He said he doesn’t cheat. I assumed he was referring to me being in a relationship, but he could’ve been talking about himself as well. I don’t even know if he’s with anyone. Does he have a girlfriend? A fiancée? Oh my God, is he married? Suddenly, I feel cheap and dirty and want to take a long, hot shower to get Jase off my flesh.

“And what about you?” I whisper. “Are you…with someone?” If he could cheat on me, who’s to say he wouldn’t do it to someone else. We might be older, but there’s a reason for the saying: once a cheater, always a cheater…“Are you with anyone?” Based on what his daughter said, I assumed he was single. But you know what they say about people who assume…especially with his track record. I quickly glance down at his left hand, relieved that there’s at least no ring on his finger.

“What if I am?”

“Then it wouldn’t surprise me that you have no problem fucking someone else.” I shrug my shoulders with all the confidence I don’t have, and walk out the door.

“Then it wouldn’t surprise me that you have no problem fucking someone else.” I can’t get Celeste’s words out of my head. They don’t make any sense. Why would she believe I would ever be okay having sex with someone while with someone else? I wanted to chase her down and ask her what she meant by that, but when I got outside, she was nowhere to be found. My daughter and Quinn were, though, and while Quinn kept giving me a knowing look like she could tell something went down, she couldn’t voice her suspicions because of Skyla being with us. During the elevator ride up to our room, Skyla went on and on about how she ran into Celeste and met her model friend Adam. She didn’t even notice that, while I was gone for a while, I didn’t return with the cake I originally set out to get us.
