After finishing off the omelet, I shower and dress, ready to head to the clubhouse. Hector is dead, and for now, Gia’s safe. But if he doesn’t know yet, Ace needs to know that the prospects abandoned their posts last night and that someone killed the bastard.

I stop to tell Gia I’m leaving when I overhear a piece of their conversation.

“You love him,” Ro says without asking.

“I do, and I think he might love me back, Ro.”

I clench my jaws at the uncertainty in her tone and vow to make sure she knows every fucking day just how I feel about her. I wait for a break in their conversation before I step inside the kitchen. “Everything all right in here?”

“Everything’s great,” Gia answers with a watery smile. “Where are you off to?”

“Clubhouse. Got some business we need to take care of,” I tell her, and though her eyes cloud over, she nods. “Don’t open the door for anyone. Call me if you need me.”

“Be safe.”

I smile and go to her, wrapping her in a tight hug. “I’m always safe, babe. And I’ll always come back,” I tell her.

“Good to know.”

“I love you too,” I whisper in her ear before I pull back and give her a quick kiss goodbye. “Good to see you again, Ro.” I leave to the sounds of feminine squealing, a wide smile on my face.

I get to the clubhouse and find Dix and Joaquin at the bar laughing and smiling, without a care in the world. “Hey. When did you guys get back?”

“About an hour ago,” Dix says with a grin. “Hope you don’t mind. We started celebrating without you.” One foot lands on a stack of giant metal boxes, and he laughs. “Private flight back courtesy of the Cypress Brotherhood. Nice shit, right kid?”

Joaquin nods. “Buttery leather seats. Got a blow job from the sexy redheaded stewardess.’

Dix laughs. “I think they prefer to be called flight attendants these days.”

“Whatever,” Joaquin shrugs. “She’s got a mouth like a Hoover, and that’s all I care about.”

“Does that mean the trip went well?”

“Fuck yeah,” Dix shouts. “Hot bitches in itty bitty bikinis, most of ’em down to fuck.”

Joaquin laughs. “Yep. Got a tan, made a lot of fucking money, and fucked some hot chicks. What more could I ask for?”

I can’t help but smile at the good mood of my brothers. “Well done. Ace will be pleased,” I assure them because when I tell him about Hector, he’s going to be angry.

Usually, Ace is an easygoing President, delegating without being a tyrant, decisive but always willing to listen to most things. This though? Someone is going to be in big fucking trouble.

Shades walks in and sees the returning travelers. “Holy shit, when did you ugly fuckers get back?” He has a smile on his face, dark red glasses on the tip of his nose. “Is that the cash?”

“Yep. Where’s Ace?”

“He had some shit to do,” Wild Man says from behind the laptop in the corner of the room. “He’ll be here soon.”

Shades nods and shoots a frown at Wild Man. “What the fuck are you doing?”

“Checking out this laptop we got from the Kings yesterday.” He nods at me. “Preacher’s girl made copies of all their dark web files and sent them to the police.”

She did that? “So what’s the problem?”

“No problem,” he sings. “Except she sent it to the one asshole on Hector’s payroll.”

“Damn,” Dix shouts, a little tipsy. “That sucks.”

“Nah,” Wild Man explains. “I deleted that email and re-sent it to Doherty.” With a smile, he presses a key.

“Shit, that should be worth at least a few months’ pay for Doherty,” Shades says and cracks open a cold beer.

“Feels like today is gonna be a good day.” Wild Man grins and dips back behind the laptop again.

I want to agree with Wild Man. Today is going to be a good day because it was off to a good start. Gia in my arms, making me breakfast, my cock buried deep inside her pulsing pussy. She’s at home giggling with her best friend.

Yeah, it’s a great day so far. But it seems like these guys don’t know Hector’s dead. And that worries me.

Nova enters through the front at the same time Ace stalks in from the rear of the building. I nod toward Nova but make my way toward Ace. “I need to talk to you. Now.”

Ace shakes his head, a dark look on his face. “Not now.” He looks around the room, letting his gaze linger on all the brothers that showed up to hang out today. “Where’s Coop?”

Nova sighs. “I just came from his place. Kelsey is having labor pains, so he’s staying close to home today.”

“All right, the rest of you gather around.” Ace is angry, but he’s doing a good job of keeping it hidden.
