After he poured the wine, he glanced at the two very full glasses and said, “Theoretically, you’re supposed to let it breathe after opening the bottle.”

I muttered, “Honestly, I doubt I’d be able to tell the difference,” and picked up one of the glasses. I took a huge sip, then choked on the bitter taste. It had been years since I’d tried to drink wine, and I’d forgotten just how much it disagreed with me. A cough shook me as I pulled the glass from my lips, and I managed to slosh some of the deep red liquid all the way down the front of me.

As I swore vividly, Wes said, “You need to rinse that out right away, or the stain will set.”

I stripped down to just my briefs again and threw the shirt and jeans in the sink. After running water over them, I turned back to him and said, “Wow, I’m doing awesome.”

He was watching me intently, now that I was almost naked again. I was used to guys ogling me when I was at the club, but this was something else entirely. His expression was equal parts sadness, reverence, and longing, as if I was something special, something he wanted desperately but could never have.

Somehow, that hit me like an aphrodisiac.

It was a short tumble from the attraction I already felt for him to raw desire. He was so restrained, so tidy and perfect and buttoned down. I wanted to unravel him, to discover what was beneath the prim bowtie and neatly pressed clothes. How would he look in the throes of passion? What would I see in those expressive eyes once he was inside me? I desperately needed to find out.

I crossed the room and stood right in front of him, as my cock swelled in my skimpy pink briefs. Then I picked up his hand and placed it on my bare chest, so he could feel my heart racing as I asked, “What do you want, Wes?”

“It doesn’t matter what I want. We have an agreement.” His breath became uneven as he lightly traced my collarbone, then trailed his fingers down the center of my chest before pulling his hand away.

“Fuck the agreement. Tell me what you want.”

“You.” A single word—a whisper—laced with desire.

“Then take me.”

He shook his head. “It’s not what you want.”

I held his gaze as I caught his hand again, then pressed it to the hard-on barely contained by those flimsy briefs. “Tell me again I don’t want this.”

Wes seemed surprised, and he caressed my cock for just a second before both hands came up to cup my face. He kissed me, tentatively, and it was so sweet and tender. When he deepened the kiss, I parted my lips and gave him more of me. His fingers lingered on my face with the lightest touch. Then his tongue slipped into my mouth, and I whimpered softly.

Soft fingertips traced my neck, then my shoulders before he drew me into his arms. I melted into him and slid my hands down his back. He felt so good—warm and strong and solid.

I dropped my briefs and stepped out of them, and that ignited something in him. He kissed me feverishly as he slid his hands to my ass. I ground myself against him as he whispered, “Tell me what you want, Ash.”

“I need you inside me.” He leaned back a little and searched my eyes, and I asked, “Is that okay?”

He nodded, but it sobered him up somehow. I could hear the uncertainty in his voice when he told me, “I’d love that, but I’ve only ever been with one man, and he was strictly a top. I’m not…I mean, I won’t really know what I’m doing. I’ve always wanted to try it, but I don’t want this to be a bad experience for you.”

I smiled at him and took his hand. “Don’t worry, Wes. You’re in good hands.” I stretched up and kissed his cheek before leading him to the bedroom.

Oh hell, the mattress was still covered with condoms. After sweeping the boxes onto the floor and unceremoniously kicking them under the bed, I turned to him and hesitated. We’d definitely lost our momentum, and after a pause, he filled the silence with, “It’s good that you…I mean, I’m a firm believer in safe sex, so…”

“Yeah. Me too.” How fun that I was buck naked during this awkward conversation.

But while we were at it, I went over to the desk and found a neatly printed form from the Castro Community Health Center. I held it up so he could see it and said, “While we’re on the subject, I had my most recent STD screening last week. I know it’s not sexy or romantic to bring this up, and we’re obviously going to use condoms, but I thought it might give you peace of mind to know my results were negative across the board.” Since he thought I was a prostitute, or even just in general, I could see why he might have some concerns.
