"Why the fuck not?"

"I want it in my pussy." My sweet princess looks wild right now, and I fucking love it. "I want you to fill me up."

"Nasty girl." I toss the cigarette aside. "You want me to fuck you without protection again?"

Nicoletta looks right into my eyes before nodding. "Yes, Ryder, that's all I want..."

Nicoletta

It really was incredible, my lover’s cock pounding me hard on the damp grass of the maze with fairy lights all around us. Incredible to be filled with his cum so mercilessly. And even more incredible when I asked if I could spend the night in his bed and my lover agreed, holding me tight under the covers as I dripped with his seed. He gave me what I wanted and I’m hoping and praying it does what it should and I have good news for Papa when I see him again.

The next morning, I wake up with a smile on my face. Just knowing Ryder is next to me fills me with brightness. I feel so light today and excited for the future.

After Ryder assured me he feels nothing for Livia, I feel like I can take on the world.

"What's got you so happy today?" he asks me with a smirk as I push my legs out of the bed. "You're smiling like the cat that got the cream."

"I did," I remind him with a wicked little smile, making him laugh out loud. "And I have a good feeling about today. I think things are finally going to start going right for us."

"Just be careful you don't get seen leaving my room."

I nod, but my mind has already wandered somewhere else. As I leave his bedroom, I run into Mia, my maid, who quickly pulls me away from the hallway and toward my room.

"Oh, signorina," she gushes. "You need to be more careful. Someone could see you."

"You're not going to tell anyone, are you?" I ask her with an innocent smile, and she shakes her head and clicks her tongue.

"I never would, but someone else could, signorina. The walls have eyes here and you never know who's watching."

"Oh, stop being so cryptic," I giggle. "I have a good feeling about today, Mia. I think things are finally starting to work out for me."

She merely gives me a terse smile, but I don't let her negativity faze me. My good mood remains as she helps me get ready for the day, and I even pick a dress that's shorter than what I usually wear, knowing it will please Ryder.

I'm alone for breakfast in the dining hall that day, which is surprising – usually, I’d be joined by at least one of Bruno's sons. But today, Mia whispers in my ear they're all having a discussion in Bruno Bernardi's office. I find myself nervous, but when the news finally comes, it's the best thing I could have possibly hoped for.

My wedding with Adrian is off.

At first, I hear the news whispered, passed around from maid to maid who all look at me with pity. But I want to laugh and cry with joy. I've finally been saved from the loveless marriage I never wanted. Maybe now, Bruno and Papa will accept that Ryder and I belong together.

Hours later, I'm called into Bruno's office. When I arrive, Ryder and Adrian are already there and I flush, taking a free seat on the armchair opposite of Bruno's desk.

"I'm afraid I have some terrible news," Adrian speaks up first.

"Maybe it's not so terrible after all," I beam, and he exhales a sigh of relief.

"So, you've heard?"

"About the wedding? Yes." I nod, glancing from Adrian to Ryder to their father. "I'm honestly relieved, but I'm telling you now my papa won't be. And unless you want a price on your heads, I'd recommend fixing this issue as fast as you can."

"Exactly," Ryder cuts in. "I've already suggested something to Father. I think Nicoletta will agree with my idea."

"Which is?" I twirl a strand of pale blonde hair around my finger, watching him expectantly. My heart still speeds up every time we're in the same room, and I'll never get sick of it.

"I'll leave you to it," Adrian murmurs, picking himself up. His father's thunderous glare follows him as he comes to stand in front of me. "I want to apologize to you personally, Nicoletta. I've been a terrible fiancé and I've let you down in the worst possible way. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me someday."

I want to laugh, but force myself to nod at his words instead. "Thank you, Adrian. I hope you and Marzia are very happy together."

Something flashes in his eyes but then he laughs himself, nodding with a grateful expression. Once he leaves the room, it's just Bruno, Ryder, and me – and the thick tension in the room signifying a big decision is about to be made.
