She watched Colt pick up the plug and soon felt the cold metal against her. Her efforts to keep him out were futile, and it glided inside her bottom until the base rested firmly against her. She shivered at the feel of the chilly object stretching her passageway.

“Let me clean my hands and we’ll go celebrate with our milk.”

“Wearing this?” she squeaked.

“You’ll get used to having your bottom full, Little girl.” He leaned over to kiss her cheek before moving away.

Never!

Soon, she wiggled as she sat on the couch with Wombles, waiting for Colt to return with the milk. The plug pressed deeper inside her in this position. “Maybe I should go lie down,” she suggested as he returned.

“Soon, I’ll put you to bed.” Colt set the glasses on the side table before sitting next to her and scooping her onto his lap. His hard thigh under her pushed the device even further, making her squirm to move back to the soft padding of the seat.

“Stay where you are,” he warned, bouncing his knee.

“Oh!” Immediately, she sat still.

Colt handed her the milk and clinked their glasses together as if they were drinking fine champagne. “Cheers, Little girl. Here’s to an amazing future together for our family.”

He shifted slightly to work the small velvet box out of his pocket. “I’ve carried this around for too long, Angel. Will you marry me?”

Harper’s heart leapt inside her chest and tears coursed from her eyes to run down her face. His fingers, callused from hours of playing the guitar, gently wiped the moisture from her cheeks as he looked at her in concern.

“We can wait until you’re ready,” he quietly suggested.

“No! I think it’s just the hormones. I’m so emotional.”

“Will you marry me, Harper Benson?”

“Yes!” She watched him pull the ring from the box and hoped with all her might that it wouldn’t be too small. To her delight, he slid it easily onto her finger.

“It’s big, but your fingers may swell during your pregnancy. We’ll get it resized after the baby gets here,” he suggested as she held out her hand to stare at the sparkling stones.

“It’s gorgeous! I love it. Wombles does, too.”

“I’m glad you both approve of my selection,” he said with a smile before kissing her lips softly.

“We’ll get matching silicone rings made for us to wear to work. I know you don’t want to scratch someone. Do you want a big wedding?”

“No. All those people would make me nervous. To tell you the truth, I’d love to get married in one of my pretty dresses. I have an ivory one left. I think it would look nice.”

“I think that sounds perfect, Angel.”

“A judge at the courthouse could marry us in front of a few friends and family members soon, so I still fit into it. I don’t want to wait anymore.”

“If that’s what you want…”

Harper nodded enthusiastically. “It is, Daddy.”

“Then that’s what we’ll do. We’ll make an appointment and notify Amber, Rio, Maisie, and Beau.”

“Do you think they’ll ever end up together?”

“Maisie and Beau?” he asked.

“Yes. I know they still feel the same way about each other.”

“I think Beau has waited long enough for his Little girl. This time, he won’t take no for an answer.”

When Harper opened her mouth to argue, Colt simply bounced her on his knee and her mouth snapped shut with a click of teeth.

“Let’s just send good thoughts their way. Have you told your parents?”

“No. No one.”

“We’ll go see them soon and share our news. For now, I just want to keep you all to myself to enjoy.”

He plucked the empty glass from her hand, setting the drinkware on the side table. Leaning back, Colt hooked her knees over his and spread his legs to widen hers. “I think a brave Little girl who tells her Daddy the truth deserves a reward, don’t you?” he asked, stroking his fingers through the wetness between her legs.

“Oh, yes, Daddy,” she answered, setting Wombles on the couch so he couldn’t see.

EPILOGUE

“Colt and Harper look so happy,” Maisie whispered, trying not to cry as her best friends stood in front of the judge, reciting their vows. She leaned against the man next to her, drawing on his strength.

“It’s our time next, Little girl,” Beau answered, squeezing her tighter.

“Like that’s ever going to happen. You’re still a public figure and I’m that girl from the wrong side of the tracks.”

The ceremony concluded, and the couple turned to face those dearest to them. Applause filled the room, making it impossible for Beau to answer. A short time later, they congratulated Colt and Harper together.

“It only took eleven thousand, three hundred and two days to make her mine,” Colt reported with a smile, making Harper laugh that he’d counted all the days from the beginning of third grade.

“Did Wombles get to see?” she asked Maisie.
