“You crazy woman!” Finnegan bellows on the other side of the room. “Are you trying to get shot coming in here like this?

“I’ll blow this whole place up!”

“You’ll do no such thing! Get your pretty ass over here!”

She doesn’t move, her finger hovering over that red switch. As if agitated more than scared, Finnegan smacks his coffee cup on the counter, strolls across the room, and scoops the woman up over his shoulder and carries her out of the room. Before he can get to the hall, I hear the sound of his palm echoing off of her ass.

She calls him an asshole, but there’s no explosion.

“I told that man about sticking his dick in crazy,” Kit mutters.

“Was that—” Gaige begins.

“Empty baking soda boxes? Yes,” Kit answers.

“And in her hand?” Wren asks.

“Spray painted roll of Lifesavers.”

The men around the room chuckle.

“I just let her through,” Pam says with a grin. “Figured you boys needed a good laugh.”

The office manager heads back to her desk.

“I’m going home,” Deacon says with a shake of his head before walking out.

“We are too,” Gaige says as he grabs my hand. “I have some apologizing to do.”

“I do need a foot massage,” I tell him with a grin as we head toward the elevator.

“I’m at your service, Ms. Redmond.”

THE END
