Guiltily, my thoughts circle back to the girl who is being held captive in a bedroom at my home, not knowing she's only a few doors down away from her dogs and from the life we used to share together. But now it's too late for all of that.

I shrug, not wanting to signify how much Tallulah actually means to me. Instead, I get up and walk to the ring while the crowd erupts in more cheers.

I raise my hands to the sky and they cheer for me like I'm a winner already. I can feel Saul's worried gaze on me as the head of the ring motions for someone for me to fight.

The first one is easy.

Three punches and he falls down like a rock, already fucking dead. In my long training, I've learned where to hit and where to punch to deliver the blow that will end someone's life before they even have a chance to fight back. Now, I'm putting it to good use.

I haven't even broken a sweat yet by the time I kill my third opponent.

Deep down, I want to feel sorry for these boys because that's all they are. Boys from the cartel or boys who want to be in the cartel, now faced up against the most dangerous men of all. But I have no mercy for them. Just like nobody ever had mercy for me.

The fourth kill is a little harder and ends up with blood spilled. I have a small cut on my forehead, which is spraying blood, but I don't care because the body of the other guy has already been taken out. And then another man approaches.

He must be half my age, but he looks like he's determined and he's not going down without a fight.

In my years of experience, I've learned not to underestimate people just because of their height or the rate. And this boy actually looks like he might be able to go up against me. He's also much younger, making me doubt whether or not he's actually eighteen. That worries me because I swore to myself I'd never involve an innocent child in any of my games again.

Our battle takes longer. Minutes stretch by into half an hour and then an hour. I'm tired, and my cuts are bleeding, my joints hurting. Still, I attack him again and again.

I'm starting to see he's losing hope. Then I start toying with him like a cat with a mouse. It's unnecessarily cruel, but I delight in it, and when I finally take him down and knock out a few more of his teeth, he finally passes out from the pain. I don't think he'll be waking up again. He's probably brain dead after my last hit, and there's no waking him up from his coma.

But here, we fight until death, and I'm not done yet.

I stand up and glance once more at the face of the boy who used to mean something to someone. Or maybe he never did, just like me.

I stomp my boot down on his face and his suffering ends once and for all.

When Saul walks up to me to take me back home, he sees that I'm shaking from what I've had to do.

"That was horrible," he says. "You didn't have to kill that kid. You could have let him live."

"And have everyone underestimate me?" I hiss. "No, I don't think so. Now, take me back home to Tallulah."

"I don't think you're in any shape to see her," Saul says with worry. "If you go see her now you're only going to hurt her and you'll regret that in the morning."

"I don't give a fuck," I spit out. "You're here to follow my orders, so fucking do as I say. Now."

Chapter 11

TALLULAH

Xander's assaults against me never cease.

Every day, he's back in my bedroom, patiently guiding me to an orgasm he ends up denying me. I haven't come in so long I've started to forget what it tastes like, what it feels like, when the fireworks take over your body.

But now I'm desperate to get back to that. Except I fear I won't be able to feel it with anyone but Xavier. No matter how hard Xander tries he hasn't broken me yet, and I know he won't, because I will only bend the knee to one brother. Xavier is my savior. He will get me out of this and I will thank him properly.

I still can't help the chill that falls over my body as the door to my bedroom opens once again. I'm still blindfolded, but I can't help getting excited at the thought of finally being with another human again. Apart from the maids who bring me food, my only contact with the outside world is Xander. And so I've grown grateful for even the smallest bit of attention he feeds me. It's like little breadcrumbs he keeps throwing for me. And I keep falling for them, hook line and sinker.
