Which left Clover alone with Tank once more, still safely tucked in the strong arms.

“I’d say that was a success,” Tank said, letting Clover go.

Clover didn’t even consider backing away, and turned in Tank’s embrace. He stood on his toes and wrapped his arms around Tank’s thick neck. “Thank you for the… encouragement,” he whispered, feeling as if he’d just peeled another layer of his protector’s facade.

Tank’s handsome face twisted into a smirk. “You’re welcome, boy. It’ll be a pleasure to work with you.” He emphasized his words with a squeeze to Clover’s ass.

Emboldened yet overwhelmed, like a kid drowning in too much candy, Clover took the risk and arched even higher to kiss Tank’s lips. He’d heard ‘I don’t do kissing’ quite a few times in his life, and he’d hate to spoil the mood, but his stomach kept tingling from all the butterflies trapped inside, chest still hot after the orgasm, so what the hell.

The hot lips didn’t respond at first, but Tank soon caught up and grabbed Clover’s thighs. Clover understood his cue and wrapped his legs over Tank’s hips. The ease with which Tank lifted him had Clover’s body on fire, and he deepened the kiss, savoring the warm flavor of his new lover.

He’d never thought he’d be comfortable with this kind of situation, but the attention from not one but three fully grown men made him too hot for words. As long at Tank kept his promise to make sure the others didn’t hurt him in any way, this arrangement might just work out for Clover.

Tank smiled when their lips parted, and there was something genuinely happy about the look on his face. “Go on, get some pants and you can grab one of my T-shirts.”

He set Clover back on the floor and patted his ass, urging him away. Clover winked over his shoulder, so intoxicated by the pounding in his chest that he walked into a wall.

Tank chuckled, resting his huge hands on his hips. “Dress, and then we’ll think about getting something to eat.”

Clover rubbed his arm where it had collided with the wall, and rushed down the corridor. He’d almost made it to the room where he’d left his pants when someone grabbed his elbow. He was about to yelp but a cold hand smelling of nicotine curled around his mouth.

Fear gripped his heart in its cold, tight fist, causing it to beat frantically when Drake pulled Clover into an unfamiliar room and pushed him against the wall. “I can smell your lies from miles away,” he said matter-of-factly when his bitter-scented fingers slid from Clover’s mouth.

Clover blinked, suddenly off his cloud nine and shoved naked into an ice cold lake. But as unpleasant as this was, Tank’s protection made him bold, so he straightened and looked into the black eyes. “You’re smelling cum, not lies.”

Drake snarled, his handsome face turning into a mask of fury. For half a second Clover worried he might have misstepped, and Drake would beat him unconscious before any of the others could stop him, but the man huffed and poked his finger into Clover’s chest. “I’m watching you.”

Chapter 5 – Clover

Clover pulled up his pants, stilling when he caught a glimpse of his own reflection in the mirror on the door of an open wardrobe. He approached it to have a better look at the bruises on his neck. He couldn’t find it in himself to resent the ones left behind by Tank. The way he’d grabbed Clover while fucking him had been so arousing a hot tingle drizzled down Clover’s body at the memory of it.

In the corner of his eye, Clover spotted a tiny red light, and when he did a double take, he realized it was a phone left on the bed. A beat-up old thing that could only be a burner.

He made a mental note of it at first, but then fury flared up in him like a phoenix, and he grabbed the device with new purpose. This could be his only chance to tell Jerry what he thought of him and his backstabbing, friend-selling, betraying, knife-in-the-back, ass.

The phone was of the old kind that didn’t have Internet access, with rubber buttons and a tiny black-and-white screen, but it would do the job.

He picked it up, briefly listening for whether there were no footsteps coming his way, but no. He was alone. Tank had offered him a couple of minutes to dress in peace, and none of the others would enter their leader’s room without permission.

It was now or never.

He grabbed the phone, his fingers shaking as he chose the first few digits. He’d been left with nothing, since his own phone was either still at Jerry’s or sold, but he remembered the bastard’s number by heart. The jobs he’d done for that fucker required a good memory and attention to detail. Correction. Had been doing.
