“What are we going to do now?” His loaded question is shockingly worried and unsure. I don’t think he regrets what just happened, but I also think he’s having reservations like me.

“Go to the gym,” I grunt out, giving him the simple answer.

What are we going to do now… about us? About this? I don’t have a simple answer for that.

“Can we nap instead?” he jokes, injecting his usual humor in his tone.

“No,” I tell him, lifting up so I can see his stupidly sexy face. “We’re going to the gym because apparently I’m a loser.” I smirk. “But when we get there, the only loser will be you. That’s a motherfucking fact.”

“Oh no,” he says in a dry, sardonic tone, “I’ll be forced to watch you lift weights and see all your muscles bulge. You really showed me.”

And because I can’t help myself, I press a kiss to his sarcastic mouth.

“Get dressed, loser. I’m ready to whip your ass now.”

His deviant hazel eyes flash, making my dick twitch, but I move away from him before he makes good on whatever wicked thoughts he’s thinking.

“Now, Carter,” I bark out as I step back. “Stop looking at me like that.”

He drags his eyes over my wrecked state. I can’t help but do the same to him. His shirt is soaked with our cum and his dick is hard again, bouncing against his lower abs.

“I’ll be ready in ten,” I grunt, turning away from him. “Be ready to work your ass off.”

“Yeah, yeah. I’ll be ready.”

“Brayden! Oh my God! What are you doing here?”

As Mia stands in the doorway, wearing nothing but a tiny tank top and even tinier pajama shorts, with a huge grin splayed across her face, I know I did the right thing coming here.

“Drew, I have to go. Call me later,” she says, quickly ending the call. She shucks the phone onto her bed and pulls me inside, closing the door behind her. I drop my overnight bag on the ground as she drags me over to her bed.

“I can’t believe you’re here.” She plops onto the edge of the bed and spreads her thighs, tugging on my shirt so I’m standing between her legs. She glances up at me with her caramel-colored eyes shining with happiness.

I try to focus on her, but I’m stuck on who she was on the phone with. Drew. Since when does she talk to Drew? Did he call her? And if there’s something going on between them, why would he offer to help me charter a plane to see her?

“Brayden,” Mia says, framing my face with her delicate hands. “What’s wrong?”

“Why were you on the phone with Drew?” I ask, unable to help myself. My question comes out harsher than intended, but I’m confused as hell and kind of pissed. One minute he’s kissing me and the next he’s talking to the woman he knows I’m interested in.

Her brows dip in confusion, but before she can answer, I continue. “If you and Drew have something going on, you need to let me know.” I can handle her and Ashton kissing. I get it, shit happens. The two of them are best friends and close, and wires get crossed, but I will not be pinned against Drew.

Her face morphs from confusion to anger, and I take a slight step back.

“You asked me a question. Can I answer?” she quips.

“Yeah.”

“Thanks. I called him to check on Ashton. He told me he would keep an eye on him for me. I’m worried about him and Drew lives with him.”

I look into her eyes, trying to find any hint of a lie, but all I can see is concern for her best friend.

I release a sigh of relief, and Mia eyes me curiously.

“What exactly happened between you and Drew?”

“It’s not about what happened between us,” I deflect. “I know something happened between you two and—” Fuck, if I finish what I’m saying I’m going to sound like a jealous asshole. Oh well, fuck it. “I can’t be sloppy seconds to Drew.”

Mia’s eyes widen in fury. “Sloppy seconds? What are we, in high school?” She scoffs. “What happened with Drew and me was a one-time thing… Actually, it wasn’t even a one-time thing.”

“What do you mean?”

“It doesn’t matter.” She pushes the center of her glasses up her nose and then crosses her arms over her chest. “It was before I met you. How about you tell me about you and Drew?” She raises a single brow.

“There isn’t much—”

“Nope.” She cuts me off with a shake of her head. “You said you wanted all of me, including the deep. I told you the other night about Ashton and me kissing, now it’s your turn. Give me your deep.”

I turn her desk chair around behind me and drop into it. My elbows dig into my thighs and I stare at Mia for a long second. She doesn’t understand what she’s asking of me. This isn’t just deep, this is dark and gritty and so fucking raw. I’ve never spoken about what happened between Drew and me to anyone. And once I tell her, there’s no taking it back. And there’s a good chance she’ll never see me the same again.
