She sees me, and that pisses her off.

She fascinates me. Maybe she shouldn't. For her sake, she definitely shouldn't. But she does anyway. Who is this tiny little flame who roars like an inferno? Where'd she come from, and why the fuck is she here?

It isn't where she belongs. It took one look for me to know she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Money recognizes money, and I have more than my fair share of that.

Regardless of why she's running or who's chasing, the safest place for her is right here. No one touches what belongs to La Cosa Nostra. No one touches what belongs to me.

She belongs to me.

Sooner or later, she'll know it too.

I'll bend her to my will. Break her, if I must. And then put her back together with more pleasure than she can stand. My cock will be her throne, my tongue her favorite seat in the house.

I thrust my hand into her hair, craning her head back until her emerald eyes meet mine. "You do what I say from now on," I growl. "You go where I say go and do what I say do. You're mine to command."

Venom flashes in her expression. "I'm not a dog."

"Sei mia adesso."

"I don't speak Italian, Gabriel."

"I said you aren't a dog. You're my new housekeeper. That means I'm your new boss. There's a difference."

"You said all of that in three words?"

"No." I smile at the suspicion in her tone. Fuck, everything she says makes my cock harder. "But we'll go with that for now." I tug lightly on her hair, watching in rapt fascination as her eyes dilate. "Come, tesoro."

"W…what?"

Her mind is in the gutter, exactly where I want it. Right now, she's thinking about me relieving that ache between her perfect, plump thighs.

Soon, piccola fiamma. When you're ready to come to my bed willingly.

I may be an asshole, but I won't take what she doesn't freely offer.

"Come with me."

She blinks, trying to clear the cobwebs from her mind. "Come where?"

"To the bathroom so I can dress."

She balks at that, her eyes clearing in a split second. "No way. I'm not watching you get dressed, Gabriel. I'll stay out here."

"Where you can run off as soon as my back is turned?" I shake my head. "No. You'll come with me."

"I hope you tie your stupid tie too tight, and it strangles you," she mutters, her temper flaring.

"Then it's a good thing I don't wear ties, isn't it?" I reluctantly release her hair, peeling my body from hers, though it's not what I want to do. I want to kiss the fire from her mouth to see how it burns me. Cristo. She's dangerous. If I'm not careful, I'm going to fall for this girl.

Liar, a little voice whispers. You're already falling.

It's not wrong.

"What's your name, tesoro?" I ask, pulling a t-shirt over my head while she stands in the corner of the bathroom with her back to me, glaring at the wall.

"Genie."

"Try again. The truth this time."

"Genie. G-e-n-i-e."

"What's it short for, piccola fiamma? The truth, please."

She hesitates for a long moment and then mutters something under her breath. "Genesis."

"Genesis," I repeat. It fits her a hell of a lot better than Genie.

She flinches when I say it, drawing in on herself slightly. Interesting. She doesn't like her name, or doesn't like hearing it spoken out loud, anyway. I'd place my money on the latter.

"How long have you been working as a cleaner, Genesis?" I drag a pair of jeans up my legs, not taking my eyes off her.

"A while."

"You work for Lydia Kaplan?"

This gets her attention. She actually turns to look at me over her shoulder. "You know Lydia?"

"I hired her."

Her brows furrow. "You hired her? You mean your company hired her."

"No. I mean I personally hired her." I zip my jeans before grabbing my jacket. "Everyone who steps foot in this building is approved by me, Genesis."

Genesis blinks as if this surprises her. "Why?"

"Call it a precaution."

This makes her smile. "Your precautions suck if you didn't know about me. I've worked with Ms. Lydia for months."

"A situation I intend to remedy as soon as I have a chance to speak to Ms. Kaplan."

The smile slides from her face as she spins on her heels to face me. My dick presses against my zipper as soon as her hands land on her wide hips. Fuck. Her goddamn fearless attitude is like ambrosia.

"What do you mean by remedy?"

"She knew the rules. She broke them."

"You're going to fire her because she brought me along to help?"

The fact that she's protective of the old lady shouldn't be so goddamn sexy to me, yet it is. She's hissing like an angry kitten over someone who put them both at risk by bringing her here, but I'm enjoying the show, nonetheless.
