After she came again on my tongue, I held her legs until her body stopped shaking. She raised her hand and beckoned me with her index finger. I climbed up her body and took her in one quick thrust. Her lips collided with mine, her tongue sweeping into my mouth.

“Fuck, baby,” I groaned between kisses. “You’re such a good wife.”

* * *

On our last day in Italy, we drove through the coastal town of Calabria with the convertible top down. The wind whipped through Alex’s blonde curls as we rode through the mountains. She looked more beautiful than ever, wearing a pale blue strapless dress that inched up her tanned thighs. A smile stretched across her beautiful lips.

I raised her left hand from the center console and kissed her skin.

Alex glanced over at me. “Are we going to the beach?”

“Not this one.”

“What’s wrong with this one?”

“Nothing. We’ll have more privacy where we’re going.”

She smiled. “I want to make love on the beach.”

“Whatever you say, boss lady.”

Alex chuckled.

“We’ll be there soon. My parents took me to this beach when I was a kid.”

“I could see your mom sketching on the beach. Marcello took me to her favorite place in Devil’s Creek to see the sunset.”

“Oh, yeah? When did he do that?”

“When I first moved back to Devil’s Creek, and you were acting like an asshole.”

I gripped the steering wheel, taking the turn slow. “Maybe you’ll come up with your next Devil painting while we’re here.”

“I hope so.” She sighed. “I have another exhibition in two months, and I’m five paintings short.”

“Use me all you want,” I said with a taunting smile. “I love being your muse.”

She slid her hand to my thigh and squeezed. “The Devil I Love.”

Because of Alex, I no longer feared love. I placed my heart in her hand, knowing she would take care of it.

When we arrived at our destination, I led Alex to the beach, carrying a basket full of food.

Caminia had a smaller, less developed beach than those in Calabria, but I liked this one best. Hidden by rocky cliffs, we had complete privacy from the outside world. I set the basket down and removed the blanket, laying it out for Alex to sit.

“Wow, this is incredible.” Alex lifted the sunglasses from the bridge of her nose and looked out at the blue-green water. “I can’t believe no one is here.”

“I told you we’d have privacy.”

“What did you do?”

I rolled my shoulders. “Nothing. But the Basiles might have something to do with the lack of people on the beach.”

Alex flipped open the top of the basket and rifled through the contents. She uncapped a bottle of water and handed one to me.

I moved her between my thighs and rubbed my hand over her stomach, something I’d done from the moment we got the paternity test results.

Alex leaned back against my chest. “This is perfect. Thank you for arranging our trip.”

“It’s my fault we have to travel in secret.”

She sipped from the bottle, staring at the water. “We’re in this together.” Alex moved her hand over mine and held it against her stomach. “We have to protect our child. Once we return to Devil’s Creek, I’m not leaving the estate until you find out who’s trying to kill Drake.”

“I have a team assembling a birthing room at the house while we’re gone. You’ll have access to everything you need to deliver Leo.”

She wanted to name our first child after one of her favorite artists—Leonardo da Vinci. Leonardo Arlo Salvatore was the first of many children I planned to raise with Alex. My father had given his life to protect our family, to bring us together. I still thought of him every single day, not a moment passed when I didn’t wonder if he was watching us.

After our dad’s death, Marcello had agreed to come work with me at Salvatore Global. Alex still needed him, and even I wasn’t ready to let my brother go back to working with Alpha Command overseas for months at a time. I had assumed the CEO position, leaving Marcello in charge of the daily operations.

Marcello had complained at first. He hated office politics and didn’t like sitting behind a desk. His talents were suited for battle. But with Rhiannon O’Shea in his life, and my father no longer around to intervene, he was beginning to adjust to civilian life. It would just take time.

Alex moved my hand between her thighs and shoved her panties to the side. I slid my finger up and down her wet slit, loving the sight of her letting go as I pushed inside her.

“I love the pregnancy hormones.”

She moaned as I withdrew my fingers and plunged into her once more. “I’m horny all the time. It’s like I can’t get enough of you.”

“That’s not a bad problem to have.”
